Items must be laundered before being brought in for consignment.
Items with stains, holes, rips, missing buttons or broken zippers will not be accepted and should not be brought in for consignment.
Items that are found to be damaged after the consignment appointment will be removed from the racks and donated to charity.
Raspberry Beret reserves the right to refuse any item no matter the label or condition.
Pricing second hand clothes is not an exact science. Supply and demand and seasonal trends play a part in our pricing decisions. We look labels up online and follow these guidelines for pricing:
⅓ of original retail cost for second-hand items and ½ for new items with tags.
A small buyer’s fee will be added to the sales price. The buyer’s fee will not affect consignor’s percentage.
Items may be marked down ( i.e., end of season, holiday, special events) at the discretion of Raspberry Beret.
Items may be marked down 20% after 30 days and 30% after 50 days
Consignment Period - The consignment period is 60 days.
Items not sold during the 60 day consignment period become the property of Raspberry Beret and may be donated to charity at the discretion of Management.
Any item withdrawn by the consignor before the 60 day consignment period will incur a handling fee of two dollars ($2.00) per item.
Consignment Payment - Consignors receive 40% of the total earnings for their consigned items.
Consignors are eligible for a payout check after their 60 day consignment period is over.
Checks are not issued automatically - it is the responsibility of the consignor to initiate the payment process by calling, emailing or requesting a check in person.
Checks are for amounts over twenty-five dollars ($25) and are available at Raspberry Beret the next day during normal store hours.
Checks are cut on the 15th of each month in Cambridge, and on the 1st of the month in Reading and Wakefield.
Consignors may use the money they earn as store credit at any time and will get a 15% discount when they do.
A twenty dollar ($20) fee will be charged to reissue expired or lost checks up to eight (8) months only.
Checks not picked up after eight (8) months become the property of Raspberry Beret.
Every consignor is required to sign a consignment contract at their first appointment. You can save time at your appointment by printing out the contract, completing it and bringing it in with your items.
